The NC unit is designed for use in traditional tillage conditions. The simple, heavy-duty NC Classic is ideal for planting crops such as maize and sunflower. In contrast, the NC Technic is a more versatile planter. Its modular design offers a range of opening control and furrow depth settings. Moreover, it can be used with a broad array of crops, further increasing its efficiency.
Details of the NC Classic are provided here.
Parallel linkage
The heavy-duty parallel linkage with high clearance is mounted on replaceable self-lubricating bushings.
Safety clutch
An audible safety clutch system with automatic clutching for optimal protection of the metering system.
Depth control springs
Two depth control springs stabilize the unit.
Shoe
Seeds are planted by a shoe with a replaceable tip.
Depth control
Working depth adjustment can be adjusted very easily and precisely with the crank adjuster and unit pressure scale.
Clod remover
The height-adjustable clod remover is a vital piece of equipment supplied as standard with NC Classic metering units.
Hopper
Standard heavy-duty plastic hopper with 40L capacity (20L hopper optional)
Scrapers
Furrow-closing scrapers are positioned either between the shoe and the rear wheels or behind the closing wheels depending on the type of closing wheels chosen.
Rear wheel
A choice of 2 types of rear wheels is available:
- Steel V-wheels
- 370 x 170 Farmflex wheels

BENEFITS OF THE NC CLASSIC
SIMPLICITY AND EFFICIENCY
- The NC Classic is designed for farmers seeking a simple and sturdy planter for maize and sunflower planting in well-prepared soils.
BENEFITS OF THE NC TECHNIC
VERSATILITY AND ADAPTABILITY
- The NC Technic is a versatile planter. Its modular design offers a range of depth control and furrow opening settings. A variety of features can be used for planting maize, sunflower, beans, soya beans, peas, etc. in traditional tillage or low-till conditions. Some NC Technic units are also equipped with double opening discs to help with planting in less tilled soils.
NC PLANTING SYSTEM
This unit combines quality metering with disc planting, resulting in optimal use of the planter over very large areas reducing its operating costs. Below are details of the NC classic planting system. The NC Technic planting system varies by model.
The clod remover clears the way for the seed line, removing any clods or stones.
The shoe opens the furrow to a depth defined by the rear wheels.
The 2 tilted sheet-metal rear wheels (or one 370 x 170 wheel) close the furrow around the seed for optimal germination. The rear wheels also control depth.
In the "rear gauge" configuration, the rear closing wheel unit controls depth.
In the "balancing system" configuration, the front wheel and rear closing wheel unit control depth. An adjustment spring is used to distribute front/rear loading until "front gauge" depth control is achieved.
A kit is available for converting the NC Technic metering unit from the "rear gauge" to "balancing" configuration.
A game-changing concept
Inconsistent depth can result in up to 9% lower yield.
Avoid this risk by choosing the Monosem planting system.
- Faultless depth control
- Optimal soil-seed contact
- You can choose a planting system to suit your needs
The Monosem planting concept enables fast and uniform shoot emergence. Monosem also allows you to choose a planting system meeting YOUR requirements, so don't delay a second longer.
METERING SystemA GOOD METERING SYSTEM IS ESSENTIAL FOR ENSURING PLANTING QUALITY
That's why Monosem has harnessed all its expertise to offer you an accurate, simple and highly reliable metering system.
The Monosem metering system exhibits manufacturing quality that has earned it a global reputation.
Its vacuum system allows an unrivalled range of seeds to be metered.
Accept nothing less than this flagship Monosem product for your crops.
The metering box is made of cast aluminium. This means it will lose none of its accuracy over the years regardless of temperature variations.
The wear gasket is in permanent contact with the disc. It makes the metering box leak-proof and can be replaced.
These 1.5mm thick discs are made of stainless steel. The agitator fixed to the disc strengthens the unit. Discs are easy to change tool-free. A full range of discs is available meeting all single-seed planting requirements.
The bronze singulator prevents any duplicates. A spring on the metering box cover holds the singulator perfectly in place against the disc for optimal metering, even with small seeds.
The cast-iron cover is specially designed for planting with minimal seed reserves.
The metering system is highly accessible, both for adjustments and monitoring. A large transparent window can be used for monitoring metering after the singulator.
The emptying hatch is extremely convenient to operate. When you open the hatch, it stays open making it even easier to fully empty the unit using the emptying chute supplied as standard.

Microsem's primary objectives are to nurture and protect seeds.
Distributing microgranules requires just as much care and precision as planting.
Our auger-based Microsem system ensures consistent distribution of insecticides, molluscicides and even fertilizers.
Microgranules are positioned very close to seeds, protecting them from pests and providing them with all the nutrients they require for uniform shoot emergence.
An 18-ratio gearbox is used to adjust the microgranulators:
- Using the chart
Insecticide and molluscicide Microsem units can be combined for simultaneous supply of both products.
Our microgranulator is equipped with two drop lines metering different products. One distributes products in the seed line and the other either in front of or behind the closing wheels.
Using the hatches and chute, it's quick and easy to empty any remaining products.
The microgranules contained in the hopper are taken up by 2 augers. Agitators ensure an even supply to these augers. A finger wheel then distributes the product consistently in the drop lines.
Insecticide: 3 to 25kg/ha for inter-row spacing of 75cm
Molluscicide: 3 to 10kg/ha for inter-row spacing of 75cm
FERTILIZING SYSTEMS
With our full range of standard and high-capacity fertilizers, we can offer a sturdy fertilizer system that suits your planting conditions perfectly.
Fertilizer is evenly distributed using a system combining auger-based metering and agitators.
Stainless-steel augers with different pitches are available, ensuring that exactly the required quantity is metered.
Hoppers are available in various capacities and can be mounted on rigid and telescopic frames.
Electrically or mechanically driven versions are available, supporting you throughout planting and ensuring unrivalled precision.
Just choose the capacity you need! Our high-capacity hoppers have a wide opening and offer reliable metering in all conditions.
A 12-ratio gearbox is used to adjust the quantity of fertilizer metered during planting.
- Using the chart
- With tines: replaceable tip
- Double discs (or reinforced double discs): versatile and more suitable for low-till conditions
Fertilizer is evenly distributed using a system combining auger-based metering and agitators. Stainless-steel augers with different pitches are available, ensuring that exactly the required quantity is metered.
The "standard" augers (A) are blue and meter 80 to 350kg/ha of fertilizer at inter-row spacing of 75cm.
The "high-output" augers (B) are red and meter 160 to 700kg/ha of fertilizer at inter-row spacing of 75cm.
If our mounted hoppers do not meet your requirements, take a look at our front fertilizers and the Monosem CART
A WIDE RANGE OF FRAMES
Monosem supplies a full range of frames that are both durable and flexible to meet all your requirements.
With components including wheel units, a turbofan and seed spacing gearbox, choose a frame to suit your working practices.
